Led Zeppelin was a British rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. Considered one of the most successful, innovative, and influential rock groups in history, their sound is characterized by heavy use of improvisation and the eclectic influences drawn from a wide variety of genres, including blues, rock and roll, Indian and oriental music, folk music, country, and even soul.
